Hanifan defined social capital as the “goodwill, fellowship, mutual sympathy and social intercourse among a group of individuals and families who make up a social unit.” For our next Public Square Forum, we will look back on the legacy of MLK Jr. through excerpts from his book, “Strength to Love,” in an effort to generate “social capital” for our polarized, alienated, and cultural moment today.
